Operation Christmas Child:
The Children's Ministry is now taking donations for their yearly shoe box ministry sponsored by Samaritan's Purse. Please see the insert in this Sunday's bulletin or the upcoming November Newsletter for more details.
BUDGET REQUESTS:
Fall is here and it is budget time again! Committee and ministry chairpersons: please fill out a 2011 Budget Request Form and turn it in to Mike Quinn by October 31st. You can find the forms in the back of the top drawer of the beige filing cabinet in the church office.

Set up for the pancake breakfast Thursday, November 4th at 6:30pm.
UMM Annual Pancake Breakfast:
Saturday, November 6th, 7:00am-Noon. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any UMM Member for $3.00 (adults) & $2.00 (kids 10 & under) or they can be purchased at the door the day of the breakfast for $4.00 (adults) $3.00 (kids 10 & under)

National Children's Day:
Sunday, November 21st. The children will be singing, reading scripture and ushering during the morning service.
Mountain Mission Truck:
The Mountain Mission Truck will be here Tuesday, November 23rd to pick up your donations. Please drop off all donations in the Fellowship Hall from November 14th to November 22nd.
First Sunday of Advent:
November 28th.
Children's Ministry Activities
Whats going on with the Children's Ministry in November?
During Jr. Church the children will be learning about David plays for King Saul and David the sheperd.
Additional Christmas Play practice will be on Mondays at 3:00(or as soon as you can get there from school) till 6:00. Children will be provided a small snack before they practice.
Sunday November 14th is the last day to collect items for Shoe boxes. The Children will be packing them and sending them off. This is a great way for children to learn about caring for someone other than themselves, by picking out toys and necessities for another child.
Sunday November 21st is National Children's Sunday. The children will again be participating in this national day. The children will be Singing (see Katie Manning for songs), reading scripture, and ushering. The children will remain upstairs to listen to the service.

Youth Information
On Sunday Oct 3rd, we will have a unique evening service. We will be watching a short film called Most. This will be a time of contemporary worship music as well as a devotional based on the film. This is a powerful film that won awards at many festivals and shows the love of a Father for his son, in a similar way to the love that God has for us. This will be a great evening event. The youth will be apart of this service as well.
Do you have a child or grandchild that will be in the 6th-12th grade? Would you like for them to be on the contact list for the Youth Group to receive mailings & updates on Youth events at Paris First?

Send Michael the child's name, contact information (mailing address, phone #, email address) and their grade level and he will add them to the contact list for the Youth so they can receive all Youth related information.
New Sunday School Class:
There will be a new Sunday School class starting the first Sunday in October. This class will be geared toward people who are not currently involved in Sunday School but are interested in learning more about God and the Bible. This includes but is not limited to the young adult population of the church. There is likely to be a variety of different ages and experiences that will be brought to this class. If you have any questions about this class, please contact Michael Deaton.
Church Bus:
If your group needs to use the Church Bus, there is a sign up sheet outside the office door. Please write your groups name on the appropriate dates & the approximate times you will be needing the bus.
